Artéria is a Brazilian brand of intelligent handmade products that are carefully designed and developed as part of a Slow Fashion philosophy. Elene Veguin and Julia Sentelhas, the brand's founders, studied apparel and accessories at the London College of Fashion and Polimoda Florence. They are driven by a passion for design that makes people's lives easier and better.
Our collaboration with Artéria aimed to develop a line of backpacks and fanny packs with lighting technology to enhance visibility. We made sure the product maintained its aesthetic appeal and functionality while bringing the technologies required to make this innovation possible. As the organic electroluminescence had a very low energy requirement, we had to meet the requirements for a minimalist design and the brand's DNA.
The integration of the lights with the bags was a complex technical challenge. Through the collaboration between the brand's designers and our engineers, we modified the lights to meet the specific design requirements of the product and ensure optimal functionality. We were able to create a washable and easy-to-maintain product using organic electroluminescence technology.
The final bags were washable without risk of damaging the lights or the electronic system once the power box, which contains a battery and an electric transformer, is unplugged.
